Datca is a little summer town in Turkey's Mugla province between Bodrum and Marmaris and it offers you peace and tranquility. This was our first trip to Datca and we've been invited to stay in Bizim Ev by our lovely friends Deniz and Aykut.

Kargi Bay

THE TEMPLE OF PEACE

The headline seems kind of exaggerated, right? But it's not. Bizim Ev (literally Our House), built on a steep slope just like a Greek temple saluting its people proudly but when you approach, it wins your heart with its modest size and stunning view.

We already knew the place from Instagram but still the moment we saw it from a distance we felt in love with it. Parked our car in front of the fences and ran into the garden through roses and oleanders. When we reached the verandah, we noticed the breathtaking view of Kargi Bay and the stunning smell of Mediterranean figs. First few seconds we just watched the view, felt grateful that we're alive and than rushed into the house.

Although the house is a tiny one -just 22 m2- it was cleverly designed and it provides you almost all the utilities that a big house can.
It is a small giant with its well-equipped kitchenette, bath, AC and beds for 4 adults.

Since we were here just for a night we didn't bring anything except our wine and order everything from a nearby restaurant called Mandalya. Mezes and squid were tasty but butter shrimps were a-maz-ing! Even we, after a year Malaysian experience, didn't taste one like this.

Actually, when I thought Datça hotels or Datca Aparts, that was not picture in my mind. Anyone can stay in here days or even weeks thanks to it's verandah overlooking Kargi Bay and the beaches in walking distance. By the way, Kargi Bay is one of the best bays in Datca with its cool water, reasonable prices and accessibility.
