WHERE TO STAY IN CAPPADOCIA
In 2014 we participated to a radio show in Turkish National Radio (TRT) and a lovely lady from the audience asked us why we travel mostly overseas. We had many answers for that question but one of the most sincere answers was that we see our country as a family member that we can ignore, we know that we can travel within her anytime, anywhere (These lines written before Covid-19 :D).
After we have seen the spectacular Cappadocia, we had regretted not traveling within our country for the first time. It is such a magical place that you can either fit it to a science fiction movie or the Middle Earth of the Lord of the Rings.

We already shared our Cappadocia trip here, this post is only about where to stay in Cappadocia. Of course we didn't experience hundreds of different hotels but we personally been to these 3 hotels. We stayed one of it, we went for a breakfast to the other, and we had a cup coffee with our friends in the 3rd one.
CAPPADOCIA CAVE SUITES
The first hotel in the list is the Cappadocia Cave Suites. It is conveniently located in the middle of Göreme, very close to many main attractions. It is the only hotel in Cappadocia that consists of three different fairy chimneys. Most of the rooms are cave-like carvings into these chimneys and they were all decorated with a local touch. The hotel can accomodate couples, families and large groups with its different type of rooms.
The breakfast was quite good and served as an open buffet but I recommend you to check it with the hotel since everything tend to change due to Covid-19 regulations. After a very long day we didn't want to go out for dinner and tried the hotel restaurant and honestly we didn't disappointed. You can check our detailed Cappadocia Cave Suites blog post from here.

KARLIK EVİ BUTİK HOTEL
Our second stop was Karlık Evi Boutique Hotel. We found this hotel from other travel blogs and came to try its famous Turkish breakfast and we saw that it was a vise decision. In that morning, we went for a balloon ride and we asked from the company to drop us off to Karlik Evi instead of our hotel. Luckily they accepted and we came here for free :) When we arrived, we were really hungry.
To our luck, the weather in Cappadocia was quite nice and we had our breakfast in the garden with a magnificent view overlooking Uchisar Castle. Since we're not morning people, a good breakfast and the spring sun made us sleepy. So we changed our location to the hotel's winter garden to have a cup of Turkish coffee.
After we got our stamina, the hotel manager showed us the different types of rooms. Apparently Cappadocia is a well known honeymoon destination both locally and internationally. (We didn't know that until we've been to there :D ) There are different honeymoon themed rooms with big windows, jacuzzi and even sky window to watch the stars. I believe it would be very romantic being in Cappadocia for honeymoon.
The hotel feels like an open-air museum. There are art pieces everywhere in the hotel, from the corridors, rooms to the garden. Every year, mostly in winter and early spring, they hold international art workshops. Artists invited to Cappadocia, stay in Karlikevi Hotel, interact with each other and Cappadocia and leave their creation here in the hotel. The hotel conducts different social responsibility projects other than art. They also invite young individuals with their parents in accordance with LOSEV (The Foundation for Children with Leukemia).

rock valley HOSTEL
Our last stop was Rock Valley Hostel. Here is a catch for a budget stay in Cappadocia. It's location is good and provides a better environment for young or solo travelers. We found them online while we were looking for a Cappadocia tour. The owners of the hostel are two best friends. They are cool, solution-oriented and nice dudes :) Since their guests are mostly young, solo and international travelers they act like a Tourism Office. We loved their attitude, next time we can stay there.
